It was a superbly refined wedding for Asin and Rahul Sharma, the Bollywood starlet and Micromax co-founder tied the knot in Delhi, comprising a more neat aesthetic, with what felt like a very personal and very metropolitan style, this was not a raucous carnival of a wedding, but one which embodied a sense of chic beauty. The Catholic ceremony was a muted yet luxurious affair taking place in a small chapel, the Hindu ceremony took place in the evening and was strictly for family and friends, for this a little more frivolity was added to the mix, with an eruption of colour, the ceremony was followed by a reception, which featured a scrumptious vegetarian menu and 10-tier vanilla cake, at the West End Greens Farmhouse, the close of a exceptional day for the couple. The couples close friend Ashkay Kumar attended the wedding, along with 200 other friends and family.
The wedding planner was Vandana Mohan of the Wedding Design Company, one of India’s premier companies that have been steadily taking Indian weddings into a new stylistic territory. You can could clearly see that Mohan’s unique hand played a part in this.
When it came to the outfits, it was an eclectic mix of styles and themes, with Asin wearing aSabyasachi lehenga which embodied all the charm and glamour of a Maharani, his signature heritage style brought a touch of regal elegance.
A stunning jewellery collection from Amrapali was the icing on the cake. Not forgetting the Bridegroom, who wore a Raghavendra Rathore smart, masculine styled Jodhpuri Achkan for the wedding, with darker colours it added a sense of solemnity to the ceremony.
For all the luxury that took place, the couple also gave back to the most vulnerable, according to the Hindu Times – “What was kept under wraps was that the couple also sponsored celebrations in orphanages in Delhi and Kochi (on their wedding day). It included celebratory meals, clothes, gifts, and decorations for the kids. This was Asin’s idea.” It’s this act that makes the couple a cut above the rest, and we are sure they will make one of the most loved power couples.
