Palak and Kamal held a luxurious wedding for 600 guests in beautiful Antalya, Turkey with themes ranging from the Palace of Versailles to the Ottoman Empire. The star-studded events featured belly, harem and gypsy dancers, and performances by Bollywood stars including Neha Dhupia and Prachi Desai.
The theme for the mehendi was based on the Palace of Versailles. Taking place in the lobby of the Mardan Palace, the decor was created in lush tones of red and gold with an elegant touch of white.
The decor also featured large floral tree installations along with two magnificent lion sculptures on either side of the main mehendi stage.
The setup featured three stages – the main stage for the mehendi, and the two side stages for the auspicious ceremonies of godh bharai (welcoming the bride-to-be to the family), and tikka (giving blessing to the groom-to-be). Flautist Paras Nath played during these ceremonies.
Following the ceremonies, Neha Dhupia and Manish hosted and gave a performance choreographed by Shiamak Dhavar. There were further performances by Sonal Chauhan, Prachi Desai, and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Other attendees included Dia Mirza.
The engagement ceremony was next with the ring being parachuted into the ceremony.
Following the colour combination of gold and blue, the sangeet was themed after the Ottoman Empire of Turkey. Taking place in the Dolmabahce Ballroom, Mardan Palace, the decor featured floral chandeliers and flags with the couple’s logo. Exquisite elements including lamps and pots with beautiful florals topped off this stunning event.
Hosted by Neha Dhupia and Manish, the shows opened with belly dancers, gypsy dancers, harem dancers, and local drummers.
Performances were given by Huma Qureshi, Shalmali Kholgade, Akriti Kakkar, Honey Singh, and choreographed by Shiamak Dhavar. The sangeet was attended by Dia Mirza and Anil Kapoor.
