Goa’s shores lit up over three days with this Lebanese couple’s Indian Kitsch fusion wedding. Narina who is the co-founder of Raghunter– an online fashion guide, got married to her love, Tarek in a magical ceremony. Friends and family closest to them jumped on a nine hour flight over the Arabian Sea to join the couple in the celebration of their love on the special day.
Day 1: White Party
The festivities started at a beautiful Greek restaurant with music, drinks and food. Everyone looked dashing in white summer casuals, as they enjoyed the ambiance and entertainment from traditional Arabic dancers.
Day 2: Beach Party
Goa is famous for its beautiful beaches, and Narina and Tarek used this perfectly to throw a fun and peppy Goan beach party. Friends of the couple let their hair down in beach side teepees, sporting colourful swimwear.
Day 3: The Wedding
The celebrations rounded off at the Nilaya Resort with the couple exchanging vows in an over-the-top Indian inspired style of wedding. The magical ceremony had everything from glittering Ganesh and light bulbs hanging from tree branches, to mismatched silverware, a custom painted tuk-tuk, and even a turban tying station for guests. Narina looked graceful in a Tarun Tahiliani ivory lehenga while Tarek wore a full sergeant pepper’s mashup.
In the Bride’s Words: Tips For Destination Weddings
Pick wedding planners that you trust to organize the wedding, so you can lay back and relax. Very importantly, make sure you take precautions to not fall ill during your wedding as I unfortunately did.
At the end of it, make sure to enjoy and take in every moment of the ceremony. I loved every magical moment of our ceremony, be it listening to the Hindu chanting, the sun setting in the distance or seeing the faces of people closest to our hearts with us while we read our vows.
