How They Met
Pallavi and Prabhas met during the initial years of junior college. It was love the blossomed over time to bring them where they are now- happily married to one another. Paint a picture of small boats in calm lakes, bustling streets lit up with yellow lights, and soulful music in the background; and that’s the charm Kolkata had on the duo.
Planning The Wedding
Featuring a relaxing experience by the seaside, Krabi, Thailand was the perfect destination for the amalgamation of culture and hospitality. It’s hard to not fall in love with the impatient river waters, the sun-kissed beaches, and the lush green mangroves. The couple was looking for just this simple magic. The Marwari culture of the bride met the Punjabi side of the groom, and before you knew it, everything fell in to place flawlessly. At the Sofitel Spa and Golf Resort, Krabi, the duo held their wedding week.
The Welcome Party
Family and friends attending were in for a Thai style treat. A traditional Thai welcome was arranged for their arrival, which was followed by a robust celebratory evening. A 30-foot tower of champagne glasses demanded attention from every corner of the atrium. Exotic local Thai dancers, fire breathers and kick boxers entertained and became party to the celebration.
Mehendi & Sangeet
Nobody kicks the jazz in to mehendi festivity like the Punjabis. With an afternoon full of vibrant Punjabi folk singers, photo-ops and the funky neon themed decor, the mehendi was the highlight of all events. Pallavi wore a striking Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla lehenga to the afternoon gala.
The sangeet followed soon after. The night must go on, and with that melody in mind, the sangeet saw an aqua theme. In tandom with the blue green waters of Krabi, the sangeet was a grand tribute. Pallavi was the show-stopper in her Anamika Khanna ensemble.
The Wedding & Reception
This was the day the couple, Pallavi and Prabhas, would remember and recall with fond memories for the rest of their lives. Pallavi and Prabhas’ wedding organizers, Krishna Events (Bangkok), outdid themselves to fulfil the duo’s dream with their mandap afloat inside the pool.
The wedding affair was maintained to be a very traditional one, observing rituals in accordance with both Marwari and Punjabi cultures. Pallavi, in full feather in her Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla bridal attire, accompanied with Anamika Khanna’s creation, looked like a goddess drifting the waters. Prabhas, to partner, was dressed to kill in his Sabyasachi selection.
