Jill and Niraj’s elegant destination wedding was held in Barcelona, Spain at the beautiful Castle de Sant Marcal and Cavas Codorniu. Modern yet traditional at the same time, their Indian wedding was filled with gorgeous fashion, beautiful architecture, and charming decor.
The wedding events kicked off with the Jill’s mehendi ceremony. Jill wore a pretty black knee-length draped dress with a gold maang tikka to accessorize; while Niraj wore a blue kurta with a dark blue and silver jacket over top.
The Mehendi Venue
The venue was decorated with a Moroccan theme in mind. Vibrant and elegant, Morrocan style lanterns and a bright orange sofa was the central decor for the room. The table linen was in white and grey with fruit in metallic cups and plates creating a beautiful atmosphere.
Fun was had by all at the pool side sangeet held at the Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos. Decor was kept to a minimum with white couches and tables lining the pool. Jill wore a beautiful peach Gaurav Gupta gown, and accessorized with diamond an gold jewellery, along with flowers in her hair. Niraj wore a pink and gold kurta with a black jacket.
The wedding day arrives and both Jill and Niraj look stunning in their gold and maroon ensembles. The couple went for a royal look with both dressed to impress. Niraj’s gold and beige sherwani featured rich maroon detailing along with a maroon scarf. He wore a gold turban and pearl accessories to finish the look. Jill’s bridal Sabyasachi lehenga featured a maroon blouse with gold detailing, and a beige and gold skirt and dupatta. She accessorized with heavy gold necklaces, earrings, bangles and anklets, and looked like a princess ready for her prince.
The Wedding Party
The wedding party looked elegant in complimenting colours. The bridesmaids wore pink sarees tied in different ways, with blouses cut in unique styles; while the groomsmen wore white kurtas with pink turbans.
Niraj arrived to the venue in a classic car and danced his way to the wedding venue with his family and friends by his side. Dhol players and Punjabi dancers provided music and fun for the guests; and Jill and Niraj were able to bring a traditional Indian baraat to their destination wedding.
The Indian wedding was held in the palace yards of the Castle de Sant Marcal. A tent was erected with simple decor for the wedding ceremony to take place in. After the wedding, guests were treated to lunch inside the venue; it was decorated elegantly with round white tables and chairs.
Wedding Ceremony: Jai Mala
For the garland exchange, Jill wore a traditional white and red silk saree. The ceremony took place just outside the castle where the groom’s side arrived.
Wedding Ceremony: Phere
After the jai mala exchange, Jill changed into her gorgeous maroon and gold lehenga for the phere. She was escorted to the wedding mandap by her brother and a few other male relatives. The sun was starting to set by the time the Indian wedding finished and the photographer was able to capture gorgeous images of the couple outside the castle!
The final wedding event, the reception, took place at the beautiful Cavas Codorniu. The winery was decorated with long rectangular tables for the guests. Tableware featured dark plates, gold cutlery, and white floral centerpieces. The venue looked elegant with a hint of gothic.
What The Bride & Groom Wore
Jill chose a modern white strapless gown for the reception with diamond jewellery to accessorize, while Niraj wore a black patterned suit. The couple looked elegant and classic as they entered their reception.
