Angelo Garini is a celebrity wedding planner with offices in Milan and Paris. We recently had a chance to connect with Angelo and speak with him about his style of wedding planning and his work with his luxury clientele.
The moment we saw pictures of this wedding in particular, we knew we wanted to hear more about it.
The wedding venue- Villa Palagonia, is a patrician villa in Bagheria, 15 km from Palermo in Sicily, in the south of Italy.
This history of the venue comes from the Baroque period when noble families moved to their countryside villas during the summer, transforming peasant lands into small, gorgeous villages. In these villages is where parties took place in the form of music, dance, dinners and concerts.
This heritage is clearly seen through out the venue and is one of the earliest examples of Sicilian Baroque, which makes this venue magical.
The couple who chose to work with Angelo wanted someone who could understand the atmosphere and spirit of the villa.
In The Wedding Planner’s Words: Planning The Wedding
When I first saw the gardens and salons of villa Palagonia, I immediately pictured in my mind the way to revive the roots and the historical atmosphere.
I chose to welcome the guests by deploying along the access driveway, valets wearing the family livery and holding wooden sticks decorated with flowers and ribbons traditionally called “tirsi”.
After the welcome cocktail and ceremony which took place in the chapel of the villa, guests made their way towards the magnificent hall of mirrors. It is a unique space whose ceiling is completely covered in plates of silver mirrors made in Venice during the 18th century.
The main focus of the room was an imposing imperial table dressed in family heirloom tablecloths.
To accomplish all this, dozens of people have been involved for an entire week in order to organize everything to perfection.
The creative design work and planning started six months before the reception.
There is no greater joy than reading amazement, admiration and emotion in the eyes of the bride and their guests who have literally been speechless to see the realisation of their dream.
It has been a very important challenge in which I have been able to implement many creative solutions, in a perfect collaboration with the couple and their families.
In order to create the designs I work with my personal team of florists and decorators. For this particular wedding, all the items such as candle holders, mirrors, vases and glasses where shipped from Naples and Amsterdam. It took over a week for the team to put together all necessary decorations and assemble the flours to realise this wedding.
What is fundamental to the organization of a marriage, is the relationship of trust that was established between me and the couple.
In this case, being a destination wedding, the presence of a team that coordinates and organizes creatively, it gives the bride and groom the permission to enjoy the preparations of their wedding without anxiety or worry.
