A Wedding filled with gowns, jewels, flowers and everything beautiful! As a bride, we sometimes forget one key ingredient to making a wedding work…the Groom!
As you get going with the wedding plans you will slowly begin to notice that when you speak to friends about the wedding, you will casually refer to it as ‘My’ wedding. An easy mistake to make! (Trust me, I know!) but we brides do, on the odd occasion, like to have our man’s input and we want him to have as much fun as we do when it comes to what he wants.
For us Ladies, the dress is one of the most important parts of the day, we must look the most beautiful we have ever been, this rings true for our gentlemen as well. I mean we all want to walk down that aisle to our Prince Charming!
Gentlemen, picking out your wedding attire is a crucial aspect of your role, it is not just for you to match the rest of the days colour scheme, but for yourselves to feel $1m! This is your chance to shine and be as dapper as you have ever been before. When beginning to look at suits, the first thing you need to consider to yourself is, if you are planning to have a completely bespoke suit or if you are having maid to measure.
‘ What’s the difference?’ I hear you ask. The word bespoke is used so often it has lost almost lost its original meaning, but actually there is a very big difference between the two.
“Made-to-measure is essentially pre-made suit shapes that are altered based on your preferences and measurements. Rather than starting from scratch, you are fitted from a selection of sample garments, we then tailor this for your unique body type and provide you with fabric and detail options.”
“A bespoke suit is measured and made for your specific body type, taking into consideration all the nuances of your body and gait. The tailors eye is born out of years of experience and the suit is hand-crafted to you, and only you.”
– Hemingway Tailors
With a bespoke suit, there is a lot more detail to consider, colours, patterns, textures, weight and density of the cloth as well as personalisation and accessorising. Bespoke means you have have something entirely custom made to fit you as well as having the opportunity to make your dream suit and have it made exactly how you envision it. A bespoke suit is what I like to call a one of a kind, no other gentleman will have the same look as you.
Made-to-measure on the other hand is a perfect solution if you are in need of several different suits and you would like to keep the same style but with slightly different features. For example if you are planning a pre-wedding celebration, family dinners and then the wedding itself. Maid to measure, you are able to pick a style that has already been created (off the hanger) and then you are able to change small details such as the measurements to ensure it fits you, as well as colour choice and possible personalisation such as your initials stitched on the inside pocket.
Any form of attire can be made-to-measure or bespoke, the same process is used for traditional robes used in religious ceremonies where different wedding attire is appropriate. I would suggest always going bespoke for your big day, have something completely special and make your bride smile with glee when she sees you. We love a man that knows how to dress well!
